Target: 11:16
Achieved: 11:51
I just finished another successful week of training in week 4. I did a little more that I was supposed to BUT I had the opportunity to do some training with my brother from Dubai (in Picture).
He is also getting ready for the Cape Epic and is also thus into the swing of training and preparation. Rick also had a solid week and “Team Old MTB Toppies” is getting into shape and all is on track. I am about to go and have a meeting with a small cycle shop and discuss how we can work with them to provide backup equipment and a mechanic for the week. I sure hope this goes well as it is a crucial part of the preparation.
Breaking it all up I did Suikerbosrand twice this week and the rest I did on the indoor trainer in front of some riveting cricket. The eating went well and I feel good. I am responding well to the training at the moment and it feels good. The legs are good and I seem to have the “free radicals” under control with my Vitamins and solid healthy eating.
All in all this was a great week and I am happy it went as well as it did taking into account that it was over the festive season and all. We have some logistical planning to do this week and I will update the Blog as and when we do it.
I also got a new toy to play with and it is the POLAR RS800G3 HRM. It is a great way to see where and how fast you got there and what effort was needed to climb that mountain (http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/running_multisport/RS800G3)
Happy training and may 2009 be an awesome year to all and the recession just be a vague memory by the end of 2009.
